Editorial Policy

Greenhouse Nook exists to help readers make practical, informed decisions about small greenhouses and growing under cover. This policy explains the standards we aim to apply to published content.

Useful guidance comes first

We prioritize clear answers, usable instructions, sensible measurements, and honest discussion of limitations. Articles should explain when recommendations depend on location, greenhouse size, local weather, or product design.

Research and factual claims

Horticultural claims should be checked against trustworthy sources, including university extension guidance, government growing resources, relevant technical documentation, and reputable gardening references. Product specifications should be attributed to their actual source when material to a buying decision.

We don’t present an estimate as a measured result, or a manufacturer’s claim as something independently verified. Where information is uncertain or varies by climate, we aim to say so.

Product recommendations and comparisons

We compare products by documented features and suitability, including dimensions, materials, ventilation, durability considerations, assembly, and cost. We do not claim that a greenhouse kit, heater, fan, or accessory has been personally tested unless a genuine test has taken place.

Authorship and accountability

Each article should identify its author and make the basis of its advice clear. Sources, product specifications, and any documented testing should be described where they help readers judge a recommendation. Qualifications, interviews, and first-hand experience should be supported by the work behind the article.

Our publishing standard is to check factual claims against the underlying source, identify specification-based comparisons, and reserve first-person testing claims for documented work. Significant corrections should carry an update note explaining what changed. A refreshed date alone should not suggest that an article has been fully rechecked.

Affiliate relationships

Some future articles may contain affiliate links. Any such relationships will be disclosed in relevant content. Commercial arrangements should not determine whether a product’s disadvantages are discussed.

Corrections and updates

We welcome evidence-based corrections. When an error is identified, we aim to review the information, make an appropriate change, and clarify material updates where useful. Please use the Contact page with a link to the relevant article.

Reader responsibility

Greenhouse growing involves weather exposure, electricity, heating equipment, tools, and other practical risks. Readers should follow manufacturer safety instructions, check local requirements, and use the guidance in the context of their own conditions.
